DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dentists have been replacing lost teeth for generations but the traditional options only brought back the parts of the teeth that were visible above the gum-line. In contrast, dental implants are a more modern solution that replaces the entire tooth – from the root to the crown – for a more natural look and feel. Dental implants are small titanium posts placed below the gums to replace the root structure of one or more lost teeth. After that they naturally fuse to your jawbone, becoming your new tooth roots. This process is what makes dental implant-supported tooth replacement so effective. The procedure involves the following steps.

  1. Consultation - This determines the procedure's viability and schedules the necessary scans and blood work.

  2. Surgery - This is the actual placement of the implant in the jawbone.

  3. Connector placement procedure - This is done in about 2.5 months and involves preparing the gums to take on a new tooth.

  4. Crown - This is the portion of the tooth that exists above the gums and the final step in finishing the procedure. It involves making a mould or scanning the area to get a crown made from the laboratory and fixing it in place.
